I've never lowered one of these cars but i've lowered Hondas and Mercedes in the past (never a lot, 1-2 inches), they always have that underdamped, slightly bouncy feel right afterwards and its only downhill from there. I'd end up doing the work again later replacing the struts with a shorter stroke strut/shock. You are talking out of your ass (you said it was OK). Spring with the proper rates for the stock struts do not show those symptoms on these cars. The trick is to buys something designed specifically for the car though. If you cheap out then you may have issues. Going with a cheap set of coil overs will end up being a bigger problem than lowering springs on these cars would ever be.
