Never touched the actual clutch. Just cleaned, greased, and reassembled the TOB, fork, and related components. I agree. It's shameful but I'll figure out a solution eventually. It's what I do.

Mine isn't creaking yet like it did last summer. The TOB is starting to hang up again where it slides on the transmission input shaft cover. If it gets too bad, that's where it eventually bends the fork.
