I was wondering if this part is really needed. My rear glass has been replaced due to some deep scratches that caused by vandalism. The safelite technician didn't install the "dam" and im not told what its purpose. I have the part number and illustration of where it might be installed.
This picture was at the bottom part of the windshield near the trunk. It still has the foam(Dam) in between the glass and the body.
