It is intended to be an
entry level sports car yes but it is not a dedicated sports car. But odds are (pure speculation I admit) that it will not be a whole lot cheaper when or even if they make it. It is still only a concept as made very clear by the Toyota spokesman that introduced it o a Japan release is probably at least a couple of years away. That does not mean it will even be brought to the US. You may have a long wait. If price is your concern then there are loads of good deals on used FRS or BRZs out there that would save you that $5K.
