i think performance is better for el, and better if you turbo? although you lose the rumbley boxer sound. i think header gets you one of the biggest gains as far as exhaust and tunes, although under forced induction the benefit seems to go away.
does ceramic coating them keep the heat inside better? i like having the heat shield on the oem... esp since i have thrown codes for the ignition coil closest while on track. i'm going to try covering it up with some gold reflection tape and hope for the best. i did overpipe/front pipe/exhaust. may drop in the twin screw kit in the future, although easy to convince myself i'm not yet worthy with a trip to gingerman.
