F1point4, I'm assuming that the OEM heat shield SHOULD take care of that potential issue. Since the header is said to be able to be mounted without modifying anything, the heat shield should not only fit, but also protect the engine mount and anything else. I could be wrong though.
Side note: I'm just about to jump on getting the FT86 Speed Factory Catted UEL Header. So any more information on this header as soon as possible would be great.
