Conspiracy theory from someone who is NOT an android expert: Since they sell their own adapter, have a specific OBD Bluetooth device pairing option, and had Torque pre-installed, maybe they restrict pairing by MAC address and/or only give Torque access to the OBD Bluetooth device.
