A while back I went from OEM rubber to 215mm Pilot Super Sports. Those were insanely fun road tires - if you drove like a hoon they'd oblige and slide like crazy but if you drove "properly" they had more grip than you could use on the street.

As others have said - that 300tw class is probably perfect for what you want. Your tires should do this too - perhaps you need a bit more commitment. They aren't THAT grippy.

I fully understand if you're never had a proper performance tire before that these would SEEM like racing slicks compared to the primacy or like an all season touring tire on a fwd compact car you may have had prior to this, but I assure you the indy tires aren't that grippy to zap fun with only 225mm.
