The reason for the turn signals inside the headlights is likely so that they only need one design to work on both the BRZ and FR-S. Otherwise, they'd need to make one with turn signals for the BRZ...

Yeah, I think I'd be ok with minor notching for pipes. The greddy looks like you need remove a whole section for the intercooler itself. Pictures would be amazing!
