Recall ≠ warranty. Ultimately, the dealer has the final say whether they want to take your car in or not, but you're technically entitled to the recall repair regardless of your warranty status.

Seems like Toyota dealers are ahead of Subaru on this. None of the Subaru dealers have gotten direction on a fix yet so they probably won't take any cars in for the recall.

The radium can has a drain port on the bottom. You can buy a drain valve kit from them to make it REALLY easy to drain. As it is, undoing 3 bolts doesn't exactly take long.
