That amp is taking a high level, amplified, signal from the head unit. You will need to do the same with a LOC before feeding...

FWIW we have the Britax B-Safe and I tried this a few weeks ago. It was tight. I would not recommend this car seat if you were using it in the BRZ. It works on the rare occasion but is a true PITA...
