That's the $100,000 question. It was a quick corner and the sensation only lasted for a fraction of a second. I would say the sidewall laid over and it slid on the sidewall for just that fraction...

The wheel never scraped, the scrub marks only go down as far as the picture shows. Which is about an inch past anything resembling a tread.
