No they're putting in the higher spec engine, until proven otherwise assume all bmw engines built after about 2010 or so make claimed engine hp at the wheel under reasonable conditions.

Current Corolla is 2900 lbs with 4-doors, a hatch, and decent sound deadening/interior quality.
Edit: Japanese Yaris with 2wd is <2,600 lbs based on what I can find. Even claims down to ~2100lbs...
