Don't shift from 5 to 6 at high rpms. I get a grind also if do. But 6 shouldn't really be used for hard acceleration anyway, get to speed in 5th, then shift to 6 for cruising economy.

I get that too, you really have to be at a steady speed and let the rpm settle in to where they should be for 6th before shifting into it to avoid it, at least in my experience.
