I think it’s because there’s not much reward in revving past 5k rpm - which spoils some of the excitement.

For that reason you may have done better with a centrifugal kit. However, it then...

There's 15-20bhp on offer for supercharged cars swapping out the stock header, so can be good 'bang for buck'.

Also there have been a couple of failures of the stock manifold over here that I have...

Jerky on part throttle down the rev range.

I'm getting a retune soon anyway (new manifold) so will raise the issue then.

I get the same rough bottom end on my Harrop, especially when the engine is cold. I don't think mine is MAF tuned though, rather SD tuned. I wonder why this seems quite common to PD blowers but some...

Can confirm that this is roughly what I see on the Harrop. The only way to make IATs go up is to sit around in traffic. Extended track sessions....the IATs don't budge.

I daily mine. 4 mile commute on country back roads. Some occasional track work too. Probably done around 8k miles supercharged in 1yr.

No significant issues.

I am also a bit sceptical that a bigger throttle body for Supercharged cars won't give some kind of decent gains.

I know it did nothing for NA cars, but the superchargers are sensitive to...

Thanks for that info.

270whp does sound a little low for an 80mm pulley and full exhaust, but I bet it is still fun to drive.

Keep us posted how you go with the new tune and 75mm pulley.

I was thinking that kit, but not replacing their rods, just running quite low boost through it.

Maybe an 80mm pulley, with good header, HFC front pipe and stock exhaust, aiming for 300whp on 93.

Sounds like a good plan, and the first part is pretty much what I've done with mine.

However, I think you'll probably need a manifold to get 260whp. 240/250 max with fully stock exhaust.

That's no strictly true - you can get more power than this by building the engine and dropping pulley sizes with a supercharger (e.g Harrop are running ~420whp on their kit with e85) although agreed...

Any update on whether JR will be offering uprated lines with this kit? Or are we happy that failures are so rare that it isn't necessary?
