Actually, it can. I have been using Rotrex units since 2007. I have had C15's, C30's, and C38's. The sound gets dampened when the filters are that dirty.

Sounds like you stripped out the clamps. The Clamps supplied in the kit actually have more clamping power than T-Bolt clamps, BUT people over torque them and strip them.

Haven't seen an issue ever on the first gen on race tires on the banking of Auto Club or Daytona. (Both Left handed banked turns for extended periods of time 120-140mph)
Also no issue at Auto Club...

It does get the oil temp up to operating temperature pretty quickly on the 1st gen without a OE heat exchanger as well.
