Good choice, but I went this route. Cut into a doughnut then put it under the top of the spring. You just need to be more careful when releasing the spring pressure to make sure it seats correct.

It is a ramp. Then you jack up the back with a normal floor jack. The company is Kuik-Lift. About the same price as a cheep post lift but will work better in a small garage.
