So I put the stock axles back on, no difference. I suspect that my pinion angle does not mirror the transmission output shaft angle. Gotta figure out how to address that now.

Pinion angle is the angle in relation to the driveshaft. If the driveshaft is 3 degrees offset from the transmission output shaft, the pinion shaft needs to be -3 degrees offset from the driveshaft.

This is incorrect. The crank pulley being smaller means the other components spin at lesser RPM compared to engine rpm.
