The cricket noise is normal. I suspect that they are trying to sell you a new pump. Unless the one you have is doing something weird, I'd leave it alone. And find a different shop.

You're best off with letting the dealer fix it under warranty. IIRC the seal between the bell housing and trans is not a wet seal, so it must be leaking from seal in front of the shift linkage....
