Having owned a Z4MR and driven several Z4MC, I would say the M handles better than the FT86 even though it's lighter. Suspension is more stiff with the M and you have way more torque above the 4K...

Only way for 86 platform to hold it's used value is to be discontinued. For now it will depreciate as any other car in mass production. If you look at Z4M and 1M cars... they hold their value used....
