Airbag codes

I replaced the stock seats on my ‘22 GR86 with bucket seats for track duty.

For the driver’s seat, I installed the seat belt buckle receiver and put in a 3.3ohm resistor on the airbag plug. For...

Unfortunately, I had to take it to a mechanic friend of mine to help me wire the harness.

He found the brake lights and turn signals are two separate wires so the old Gen1 harness wouldn’t work...

Trailer harness — powered converter vs non-powered splice without a converter

please disregard, delete this post. A friend gracefully explained the simple harness will draw the signal and power from the car’s electrical system which may overwhelm the circuit. The custom...

If you have race seats, you should really really install a roll bar.

I’m on a Gen2 86. Went with the Renowned Garage roll bar. Was easy to install and fairly priced. However, it is meant to let...

245s or 255s might fit, but they don’t do well. Street tires do better when stretch than pinched. So you’re likely better off with 225s on an 8” wheel.

Budget friendly track wheels not named RPF1

I have $2K for a wheel and tire combo for track use only. I’d like a set of RE-71RS tires which leaves me with just about $1K for wheels.

I do not like RPF1s, but would like something with...

Only caveat is it won’t fit Gen2 BRZs. It fits Gen1 86/BRZ/FRS and Gen2 GR86s.

Gen2 BRZs require different brackets.

A lot of what people recommend and do is based on anecdotal evidence. 245s on 9s appear to be a very good combo and may actually be the optimal tire/wheel setup, but unless we have...

Rear seat delete. Issues with seatbelt chime

I installed a roll bar on my ‘22 86. It supposedly allows you to keep the rear seat in place but I figured I’d save some weight. But now I’m getting a seatbelt chime.

I tried using 3.3 and 2.2...

Front toe issue?

I’ve got the Tarmac 2 coilovers, camber plates, sway bars, and downlinks up front. Coilovers, sway bars, lower control arm, downlinks, and toe arm in the rear.

Got an alignment and all was well....
