Feeler: Mendocino Gold TSD

Hello Norcal Folks,

Just putting this up as a feeler to see if there are any brave (more like stupid) folks out there interested in joining me as my navigator and/or co-driver (let's just say my wife wants to but is physically "unable" to participate in such an event). You are also more than welcome to participate as your own team w/ your own co-driver.

Details are scarce for now, but check them out here: http://mendocinorally.com/Mendocino%20Gold.html

Alot of folks know what rally is, but are not as familiar with its more tame/pedestrian version known as a TSD. Here's a couple of primers:

I've done one of these before (in my crappy Plymouth Sundance) and it was alot of fun (how I found alot of the driving roads I love).

I am planning on doing the beginner class with my BRZ (I was assured by the organizers that the dirt roads are smooth and or wide enough to drive around extra deep pot holes) with very minimal prep (just some HDPE sheets to cover some open spots like the backside of the fake rear diffuser.)

Post if you are interested or have any questions.

Not willing, but good luck!

This sounds really cool, I've seen them do these types of races on Top Gear and have always wanted to try it. Hmm I wonder if I can find a willing co-driver...

You will definitely have an easier time with the WRX now :D

This sounds awesome, but I would be an awful co-driver. I have a feeling it would go something like this: "Keep flat over crest into short 4right don't cu... OH MY GOD, holy shit!!!!"

Haha, I wish :lol:TSD's are alot more tame, more like "speed up... wait... slow down... ok, turn left on that sign post...oops we've gone too fast, I think we need to stop and kill some time, want a snack?" at least, that's what it was like the last time I did it. You are pretty much guaranteed you lost if you are the first to cross the line (unless you are the first to leave ofcourse).

That's what they use to fit those 22" wheels on a car. Are you upgrading? 😂😝😇

Strut spacers? Looks like the parts from cheap minitruck lift kits.
