And to the OP, congrats... seriously. I can just smell the leather now, mmmm... :party0030: And for your viewing pleasure since you owned two: http://i1364.photobucket.com/albums/...pscff4d67a.jpg Never again tho. I am all for lighweight sports cars :) I am eager for the pictures, can't wait to see it! |
Oooo this must be quite exciting. Curious to see if the Monogram Series has any other little changes not included in the PR announcements (because what's announced doesn't always exactly match what's delivered).
Aren't you going to need the stock front and rear bumper covers to attach your TRD front and rear pieces? And did you ask the dealership if excluding the spoiler is possible? I like it when parts match such as TRD spoiler + TRD kit (that's just me). The Scion version reminds me of the tC spoiler as if it were based on it for Scion brand cohesion, whereas, the TRD spoiler was designed specifically for the 86. http://image.automobilemag.com/f/201...ar_spoiler.jpg http://image.motortrend.com/f/wot/14...ar-Spoiler.jpg But there's nothing wrong with mixing and matching. The Scion version is, after all, fitting for a limited Scion release series. |

I was thinking of buying the TRD Spoiler, but opted against it as I was already sitting at just under 4k for what I had bought. Maybe in the future, but right now, I want to see how the mix looks... Sorry about the bumper mis-speak, yes, I will have the lower spoiler portions for sale... since you are correct I would need the upper halves for the vehicle... Thanks for the comments and I will keep all posted... Ultimately I would love to have this completely TRD, but 11k for brakes, 4.5k for wheels... we'll see if I ever win the lottery... for now, I will be happy for a 1 in 2000 car with a TRD body kit - spoiler... I gotcha. You also might want to check whether the Scion spoiler is drilled in (I believe it is). If you do decide to get a TRD spoiler later on down the line, you may have holes to cover up (though the TRD spoiler should cover it). If you don't opt for a Scion spoiler, your trunk lid will not have any holes to worry about covering up. Though the TRD spoiler has studs that would require drilling holes into your trunk, those studs can be shaved off so the spoiler can be held by double-sided tape alone. Maybe you can ask if the dealership can give you the spoiler but not install it. Then you can decide whether you want to shave off its studs and attach it via 3M tape, sell it, or drill it in anyway. I'm telling you all this because my BRZ came with the OEM Toyota/Subaru spoiler installed, and sometimes I wish it didn't so I can swap in a variety of the lip spoilers available out there without worrying about holes to cover. But I'm pretty much stuck with this spoiler or the TRD spoiler. An undrilled trunk lid opens you up to many options and is much easier than swapping to an undrilled trunk lid. Just giving you things to consider while it's still not too late to cancel on the spoiler.
I also forgot to add, there are no factory side skirts that you will need to take off and sell to install the TRD side skirts. |
Great recommendations and I stand corrected...

Also thank you for correcting my misconception about the side skirts. This isn't really a performance part, but it will go into "OLAF", so I still wanted to share.

That coin holder comes with the car as long as dealer leaves it in there.
