Buzzing Sound when engine is off
 

Has anyone heard some kind of buzzing sound from the back of the car when sitting in the garage? It happens kind of randomly to me. It's not right after drive. It's long after parked. The sound doesn't go away until I restart the car and turn off. This happened twice already after three months of ownership.

to be fair, there is another similar noise I heard in my '17 for a while that wasn't related to that fact in the manual.

Do you start it up and then hear this noise or do you hear it with the car already off for, say, 5 hours?

It shouldn't be random. It should be approximately five hours after you drive it.

NONONO. I hear it with the car already off for a few hours.

You might be right. I don't know if it is just a few minutes.

Okay, I'll let you off the hook. What you're hearing is 100% NORMAL. Five hours after you shut off the vehicle, the emissions system runs an evap leak check on the fuel system. The little vacuum pump under there makes a buzzing sound when it runs.

There is a paragraph in the manual that explains this, but it's easy to miss.
