This was the first thing that stood out, right off the lot. It feels solid.

Blog: We’re also informed that additional bracing has been inserted within the bodyshell. Will the benefits of these be felt by owners?

Tada: Yes, in a couple of ways. Of course, the handling is improved through a stiffer body structure. But most people will notice the improved ride comfort on public roads because the more rigid body and new shock absorber system means that many of the small imperfections of the road surface are smoothed out.

^^ Basic chassis design. A more rigid body with less flex allows the engineers to go with slightly softer damping settings (and possibly spring rates) without compromising the handling, which results in a smoother ride over road irregularities.

Thanks, but I was talking about the "bollocks" part! The improvements are obvious in the 86 off the lot. If it's "better" or not will be up to the racecar crowd.

Thanks, I was trying to figure out what he meant.

Thanks, I do know what "bollocks" means. Does he think the tweaks are good or bad?

Sport-Tech 09-19-2016 11:59 AM

He thinks (it seems) the tweaks will have no discernible effects.

If you drove the 2016 and 2017 back to back, can you elaborate? There's a whole thread on this in the versus section, so the interest is there....

I went from a '13 FR-S to a '17 86. The 86 feels like a different car. Can you point me to the thread, I'm not sure which thread that is.

"even the little ‘teeth’ rising from the lower grille – enhances the overall aerodynamics"

Yeah right. Additional 0.5N of downforce at 150 mph?
