For those who thinks the sound tube sucks

Just listen to what a BMW sounds like WITHOUT their "speaker engine noise". With speaker engine noise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=bKzgb07EIJo Without: https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=WyxGyhIobjM The sound tube augments the stock engine noise...while BMW has to completely synthesis it. |
The sound tube was a lower cost substitute for a more aggressive exhaust IMHO. I removed it as soon as a new exhaust was installed.
I would not remove it if keeping the stock exhaust unless you have a louder intake. |
Yeah, playing a fake engine noise through the speakers is just silly. It's neat technology and Gran Turismo should start using it but for a stock sports car, it's not a real solution and frankly embarrassing if anyone notices.

It just shows that the premium brands will resort to whatever they must to keep their customers coming into the showroom.
Like Audi- They seem to redesign their LED front and rear lights almost every year on most of their models. That grabs the fickle consumer, but a mature type of buyer should be able to look past the superficial stuff when deciding what they will buy IMHO |
I actually like it without the extra audio in those BMW videos. After watching both the second one sounds stupidly fake.
