Popped a side marker?

Noticed yesterday that the left side marker light was a bit askew. Checking it out the tab closest to the wheel is broken and gone, a second tab was broken but hanging in there. There's no other damage around the area at all.

Last time I had it out it was a very spirited country road drive with a couple other cars that was over 100km round trip. I didn't catch air or bottom out at all but not all the roads were smooth either and we were givin 'er pretty good.

Are the side markers prone to breaking while driving hard? I can't think of any other good reason for it to have broken.

They are more prone to breaking when being replaced lol. Hopefully someone didn't steal it while you were parked or something.

I heard they're a little tricky to replace, I've order a set of jdm clears so we'll see.
Pretty sure it hasn't been stolen lol, and I can't imagine someone with intention of vandalizing would just yank on the side marker, but who knows.

Been a couple of guys that lost one when something got flung up in the wheel well. The wheel well liners in these are pretty light and don't take abuse well so I suppose even a good bump could bounce it off the light housing and pop it out.

Just had another good look and still don't see any evidence of gravel hit or tire rub on the marker or liner. The tab where the liner slips in is there and clean.
I'm starting to think it was just a good bump that popped it. Race car stuff you know.

It isn't a sport until parts start to fly off.

Thanks for the link, however in my case the plastic bit that the metal clip fits on to was broken on two of the install tabs. Not much good anymore.
