Curse continues...my BRZ got rear ended.

Yep...curse continues with these cars getting into accidents.

I was leaving Target on a left turn only lane behind 3 cars at the lights. Light turns green but it was a stop and go situation. Driver behind me thought I was moving and rear ended me. Luckily I did not hit the car in front of me.
Filed a police report and officer said I'm not a fault and my insurance said the same that I'm not at fault and that it is their liability for the damage.

Crease towards the right side and a few dings on the bumper. There's also a tiny chip on the trunk but no damage to the trunk latch mechanism. Don't think the impact was great enough to mess up the alignment, the car feels like it drives the same.

Hopefully I can get a new bumper and have it paint matched perfectly. :sigh:

Inb4 totaled. Exact same thing happened to me last month. You can see the 2 screw marks of their license plate on the plastic part of my bumper. I had the entire thing replaced

It just means that someone is getting their comment in before someone else makes a predictable/common comment, or before the thread is locked (when you start to see it go downhill etc).

Typically, when anyone posts about any damage to their car, no matter how small, folks will chime in with 'totaled'.

you'll also see 'IBTL' which means 'in before the lock'. basically trying to get a last word/comment/funny joke in before thread is closed.

Or you will often see it spelled wrong as 'ILBT' which then means "I Like Big Titties"

Back on topic.
Just yesterday an insurance adjuster estimated ~$690 for a new factory BRZ rear bumper cover, painted and installed.
The dealer says it is more like $740 but we will see.
They are ordering the new cover and sending it to the painters.

TOTALED in my eyes. :(

My car is also opticoated so I need the rear bumper to be coated again.

Did you get a chance to look underneath? I was rear ended at a low speed (similar visible damage, in b4 "that's what she said") and they bent the heck out of the impact bar.
