Plans to be sold beginning April 20 (Edmunds review)

There you have it, taken from the Edmunds inside line review!!

Here's the quote:

Quote:

"Subaru plans to sell 500 cars monthly in the U.S. beginning April 20. Exact pricing won't be announced for several weeks, but a Scion FR-S, which lacks the 2013 Subaru BRZ's navigation system will sticker at $24,930 including delivery. A base WRX sedan — which also lacks navigation, but comes with a turbo, all-wheel drive and four doors — can be had for $26,345 (including destination). The BRZ is considerably smaller and simpler than a WRX so we're putting our money on a base price with destination around $26,000."

Road and track also did a review, and that April 20th date is written differently (A shipping date, not a sale start date)

On Sale Soon
Pricing has not been set, even though the BRZ starts shipping to dealers from Subaru’s Gumma plant in Japan on April 20, and will likely reach lots by early May. Our best guess? The Premium model will start at $25,000, and the more opulent Limited will be around $27,000. The Scion FR-S—the mechanical twin developed concurrently with the BRZ—starts at $24,200, but the base BRZ has more standard equipment, including HID headlamps and a navigation system. Expect the optional 6-speed automatic, with shift paddles and aggressive blip downshifts, to add about $1000 to those BRZ prices.

More precise information can be read in Road and Track's new review.

So we are back to the 500 cars per month thing again?

Early May? Sounds good to me. How long does it take for a shipping boat to go from Japan to Portland, OR? Guess the other part for SOA is Baltimore and for SNE it is RI. Maybe a week to Portland and double that to the east coast? Add in 1-2 days at the port and then however long to be put on a train to get shipped to a local depot and placed on a truck? I'm guessing here in the midwest, probably see one closer to end of May.

I'm crossing my fingers that I'll have mine in time to go to Carlisle PA for the Carlisle Performance and Sound show/meet (May 12-13). I'm a long time member of NICOclub and we always have a blast there.

I'm first in line at my dealership (in Ohio) and they are slotted for 9 for the year.. so in theory they might get one of the first run, and it could very well come in sometime in that second week of May.

I sure hope so!!!

It would be nice to have the BRZ before June since HIN (Hot Import Nights) is coming back to the Philly area...would be really wrong to just enter it stock, lol... but how many BRZs are gonna be there?

And think of it economically... price for HIN ticket to get in is $20/person after discount ($5 off coupons everywhere usually) but you can't come and go as you please. To actually enter car is $40 with wrist band for 2 people... come and go as you please to get food or whatever... hmm...

But just being able to drive the car there would be amazing...
