OEM Windshield Wipers
 

I really like the OEM BRZ wiper blades, as they do a nice job of cleaning the glass and also last quite a long time. Recently I noticed that the part number for '13 replacement blades had been discontinued. I contacted subarupartforyou.com, who confirmed that they have been superseded with new part numbers (and yes, SPFY sells them for much less than the dealer). This is for the entire blade with the metal housing, not just the rubber insert.

The price you pay for OEM. Honestly Bosh Icons or PIAA blades perform the same in this beam wiper setup, and for me they lasted just as long, I replace them once a year at the same time I change my cabin air filter. The toyota equivalent is about the same together as the Subaru as well:

I don't remember what brand I got last year but they didn't freeze up nearly as easily in the snow as the stock ones used to. I did get a couple of years out of the OE blades though and all of the replacement ones I've had were 18 months or less so that's the trade off. Durability vs lack of freeze up.

If you liked the 2013 Styled ones, they're actually Denso Wiper Blades.

Thanks for the info! Haven't had to replace my OE blades yet but I don't typically drive the car in lousy weather so they're got pretty low miles.

These ones do not have replaceable inserts.

OEM or Denso ones can be replaced.

Wait, a little confused. So a 2014 factory/OEM blade has replaceable inserts? I don't really use my wipers in the FR-S, so they'll probably age rot before they have wear tear. But I've always like the rubber inserts Toyota uses (I replace the inserts on my DD Yaris).

Yes. They can be replaced. But they aren’t that much cheaper than a whole new blade.

OEM blade, or one of those cheap Walmart blades?

$30-40 seems reasonable for quality wipers that hold up. Hell, I'm still rocking my OEM pair that's seen 5 years, 62k miles and I use them all the time.

Thanks for all the info here, I'll probably order the Denso ones when my original set starts to get bad.

OEM pair lasted me 4 years. The inserts u could get them separately. I think it was around $12ish each side.
