Scion Featured My Car on Website

About 3 months ago I was contacted by Andrew Modena, one of Scion's content coordinators requesting to do an interview for an article to be featured on a Scion website (why he picked me who knows). After pretty much keeping him in limbo, waiting for parts to come in and hoping not to be shut down by him it was finally released today. This is a big deal for me, I'm just a regular guy doing every day normal stuff. I never thought I would be published let alone by someone as big as Scion. The 86 community as a whole has been great to me, so for that I thank you!

Here is a direct LINK to the feature.

When the Scion FR-S was announced, it received a lot of praise and many questioned if the car would live up to the hype. After a trip to the Scion dealer, Enrique found that the FR-S was all that he hoped for. “Never has a car received so much hype and actually lived up to it as this car has. I absolutely had to have one,” says Enrique.

Being a Scion, it was only natural for him to modify his FR-S. He says, “One thing that has been true to Scion is that from its inception, they have supported user modification. They encourage you to inject your personality into their creation.” He had built a few cars prior to his FR-S and with his experience, he wanted to take things to another level.

Inspired by the GReddy Racing/Scion Racing FR-S driven by Ken Gushi, Enrique carefully chose his modifications to enhance certain areas of his car. A GReddy exhaust, ISC Coilovers and 18x8.5 Work Emotion CR Ultimate “Kiwami” wheels enhance the driving experience. The interior remains stock for now with the exception of WeatherTech DigitalFit Floor Liner to keep the outside elements from ruining his interior.

Outside, Enrique recently added a brand new C-West front half lip spoiler and side skirts. The C-West kit comes pre-painted and was installed as soon as it arrived from Japan. Combined with the Stivo rear spoiler, Winjet headlights and Colin/TYC taillights, the car has a far more aggressive presence on New England’s weather-beaten roads.

When asked what modification he was most proud of, Enrique says the engine bay. Wrapped in carbon/Kevlar from Password:JDM, and complemented by the polished Blitz intake, the engine bay now looks very race inspired.

All modifications were done by Enrique himself or with the help of his friend, Sam Vazquez and the 86 Owners of New England; Enrique has built a stylish ride that he can enjoy year round.

Juggling priorities such as family and bills, he did not expect to get the car where it is today. Enrique says that his wife would like to think that the car is done but as with every Scion owner that we have featured, he is not even close. “With new products and personal tastes evolving, it’s tough to say when I’ll be done but everything does come to an end.”

With more parts on their way over from Japan, Enrique is far from being finished and we can’t wait to see what else he has in store.

All that work and narrow, non-concave wheels? I'm sad.

It's a super clean car though.

Is the Stivo spoiler the same as the TRD?
