Does This Look Stupid?

I haven't had a lot of sleep, and I've been staring at these brake caliper "clip ons" I guess since I'll be going with larger wheels and you'll see them more.

I've been staring too long, I need an intervention. Do these look good, okay, AutoZone? Maybe 1 to 10 with 10 being completely unidentifiable from the real thing (lol).

Red, black, or silver available

Stupid, Bling, Rice.

Not to even mention that a huge amount of cooling comes from convection (air blowing over calipers).
Putting a cover over them is counter productive to convective cooling.
Might as well put some thermal blankets over them....

MarkR171 07-24-2016 03:46 PM

Yes. There is nothing positive about this.

Ultramaroon 07-24-2016 03:46 PM

No, no, no!

NO!

ryoma 07-24-2016 03:54 PM

spend $500 more and you can get real brakes to show off (front at least) with extra performance.

FNCrazy 07-24-2016 03:58 PM

Ok, heads back in the game, (almost). No cheap ass covers. No $500 for front brake upgrades, as much as I'd love to.

Next stupid idea. Paint the calipers? Look okay, or just leave the hell alone?

I make up 112% of what I say.

No! Well, TBH I've considered it.

...but NO!

I'm thinking that's the consensus... I will never think of such things again. I do however, have another idea that is so ricer I'm not even sure I want it out on the web! Tempting though....

Admitting having a problem is the first step. Fix your rear end and leave it bone stock for at least a year. :paddle:

Summerwolf 07-24-2016 04:28 PM

FNstupid

FNCrazy 07-24-2016 04:28 PM

Uh.... You know about my rear...? Oh... Well, I might not be able to leave it bone stock now since it needs new wheels. Oh! And I installed a new stereo/bluetooth/Android Auto/DVD/Nav thing the day before I decided to play ballerina in the road. So, not 'bone' stock anymore...

Haha! Or... Not very nice. Can't tell which.

Although, FNstupid would be quite an upgrade from FNcrazy, believe me.

Enjoy your day, take a nice drive! :)

ok, maybe more than $500, but come on don't tell me you don't like this?

they're really affordable for what they are. $200 more on top of that can get you even better brakes.
