Aftermarket lights - The installation of some aftermarket lights (HID, taillights, LEDs) has been know to cause problems with the BCM (Body Control Module. Sometimes called BC Unit). The symptoms of these failures have ranged from complete power failure and inability to start the vehicle to intermittent light or other electrical control failure. The failure can occur immediately or after a period of time and is unpredictable. If you have a system failure that could be electrical in nature it is a good idea to check the ECM.

Shorter ver plz lol

In reality, I am not sure it can be much shorter and still make the point. I understand the desire to make things short but we still need to impart some more info than "they can break".

What I meant was to the point. Like...
Q: After installing taillights, my car doesn't start.
A: Aftermarket lights can cause failure the BCM (Body Control Unit). Check ECM to see if still working or more info: ....
Kinda like that

That work for you?

Perfect!

& TBH I didn't know/knew about that issue was a common issue

May I suggest a part that states something along the lines of reading the car's manual?

Dunno if it'll be under FAQs or somewhere else...

I noticed the BRZ has the owner's manual listed as a stickied thread so here's a link to the FRS. All people have to do is quickly navigate through the dropdown lists and all manuals that come with the car is displayed.

https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfo...arch_docs_page

If I may also add another suggestion: google search "site:ft86club.com/forums [keyword search here]" without the brackets and quotation marks. So glad I saw a few members bringing that up a few months back. Saved me from creating many threads. :)

For example: site:ft86club.com/forums lowering springs

Thought bout the Owner's Manual vs Service Manual... or maybe add both for quick reference. I just went with Service Manual, cuz they might have more question about service more, so I only made service manual quick reference.

As for the forum, I usually do *whatever I'm search* and add "ft86club" and it's usually comes up in first search. Not sure "site:ft86club.com/forums" is necessary needed... but that's just me
