Engine is making a loud ticking with Redline 0w20
 

I'm not really sure how a boxer is supposed to sound since this is my first one. I put in Redline 0w20 oil today and the engine overall sounds quieter, but there is a very loud ticking coming from the engine. Is this normal? This is my first oil change since I got the car.

I also switched to Redline transmission and differential oils. The car is so much smoother now, accelerating and shifting.

Direct injection.

+1. Sounds like Red Line quietened the engine a bit (high HTHS, lots of moly, and ester base stocks) and now you can hear the direct injection more. That's my theory, anyway.
