Seat belt issues

Does anyone else have a problem with the seat belt on the drivers side rubbing onto your skin/neck?

russv 05-23-2012 11:08 PM

Yes. Apparently some early models had problems with the seatbelt, when put through the snapped holders on the side of the seat, had the holders tear off. Mine came with them out of the holders and rub my neck. I just wear a collared shirt and stick the belt under the collar.

Lol! I see it now, wives/ girlfriends thinking you got a hickey on your neck and thinking your cheating on them in your hot new car.

The seatbelt holder works fine. Maybe I'm just too darn short. 5'10.5''

Maybe you need to adjust your seating position?

I dont have any issues with it rubbing my neck, nor do I use the little straps on the side of the seat (afraid of tearing them off).

Slightly off-topic -- I think twenty years from now people are going to advertise their cars as "belt guides intact" showing how delicately the car was treated. Those little things are just begging to wear badly or get torn off completely.

Yeah I do, might get one of those fuzzy things to put on it.

I'm 5' 9.5". I do not use the strap holder. It does not rub on my neck. I did notice that it seems to rub my wife's neck when she's driving. She's 5' 1", so she has to sit pretty far forward.

Have you tried moving the seat up or down?

Dadhawk 05-24-2012 09:06 AM

At 5'7"(ish) I don't have any problem with the belts. I'm not using the hook simply because it wasn't in them to begin with and just didn't take the time to change it since they seem to work fine without it.

I also have the seat slightly raised, probably two or three clicks.

Sorry but it does have to do with height. Im 6'0 and it lays across shoulder like it should.

Khyron686 05-24-2012 02:41 PM

5'8", seat to the floor, no rubbing.

LOL. Just make sure it doesn't say "FRS Type R" or something like that :P

So there's no slider in the B pillar to move the seat belt up and down? I thought pretty much all cars come with them now. Guess it adds too much weight.
