App to keep track of vehicle maintenance?

Since I'm going to try to do the majority of the work on the car myself, I was just wondering if anyone knew of an app that lets you keep track of any maintenance you do to your vehicle.

Something that lets you keep track of date, mileage, type of service, any misc. notes, etc. Would also be helpful if it allowed you to add custom entries, like say when you did any modifications to the car, but that would just be a nice bonus and not required.

Integration with Google Drive would also be great, as that would give me a nice sense of security by having a cloud backup.

Android would be preferred, as that's what my phone OS is, but IOS would work too, since I do have an iPad. Also, an actual program in Windows would be fine as well, but I figured an app might be a little more convenient.

I suppose I could just use a word program to create my own spreadsheet, and then manually save a copy to Drive whenever I make any additions, but I figured I'd ask if anyone knew of anything out there that was already set up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I use Fuelly, tracks gas mileage and you can add service history and custom notes. Can sync to iCloud or your Fuelly account.

aCar is the best app to use. It was recently acquired by Fuelly, but it's still a separate app called aCar on my phone.

I just write it in sharpie on the side of my toolbox.

Back in the day we would use a #2 pencil and notebook and now these kids use fancy lasers and holograms to keep track.

That’s the app I have used on my Windows desktop, iPad and iPhone. I’m happy with it.

Um, I use a notepad and pen that's stored in my glovebox. It does all the things you list, with the exception of server storage. It's the latest in that it requires no cell phone, internet connection, battery power, or brain power beyond the ability of clear penmanship. And if you don't have that then, bonus, it's encrypted.

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at both Fuelly and aCar. Don't really care about tracking my fuel mileage - the system built into the car is fine enough for me as I'm only really interested in if I see a bit drop in economy, which might indicate a problem - but the other features sound like what I'm looking for.

And if neither of these work, I'll just type it up into a spreadsheet and go that route! ;)

Used to have a notepad. Now I have a spreadsheet with all service items and intervals. I find the spreadsheet better for tracking all my cars service intervals and records in one place.

that's actually interesting, but everyone can see everything? No thanks. Hell I don't like people knowing my actual name...

CarFax has something like this now. I haven't really looked into it too deeply but it might not be a bad thing when the time comes to sell the car or deal with warranty issues as opposed to something "less official".
