*CANCELED* Track event

Alright with the recent news it had many people bail out on this. So this has been canceled. I will keep trying to set up a track day with GSpeed for us in the near future.

Everything is CANCELED for this. Thanks to those that were interested

Add me to the list. Just did the PDX at Cresson a week ago, and looking forward to more track events.

Add me too please Viji Samuel. Any tips for first timers on things to bring, things to replace? Beginner class for me please.

I'm in, add me to the list.

For first timers, here is a list of things to bring/do ahead of time:

0. Watch some youtube videos to help learn the track, the more you can cut down on the time it takes to figure out what comes next, the more time you have to enjoy the track.

1. Brake pads and fluids, you need new fluid (good, high temp stuff) and at least hybrid track/street pads (Hawk HP+, Project Mu HC+800, Ferodo DS2500, etc)

2. Oil. change it, check it, and bring an extra quart (it isn't uncommon to burn through a quart of oil at the track even if you don't normally use any)

3. Fluids: check them and make sure they are all up to snuff.

4. Tires: make sure they aren't damaged and that they have decent tread left (while you're at it make sure your rims aren't cracked or bent)

5. Check your lug nuts, and anything else that could be loose.

6. Take everything out of your car you won't need at the track (I've seen a quarter slide out from under a seat and remain airborne for more than 30s).

7. Bring sunscreen, a hat, water, and a folding chair. If you're a snacker, bring some of those too. You'd be surprised how much work it actually is to drive flat out for 20min.

8. If you've got a Snell approved helmet you need to bring it (I'm not sure about helmet rentals onsite, you'll have to talk with David).

9. Download a laptimer, RaceChrono or the like work well enough and there are a number of free apps that work well enough. Everyone likes to know how they did.

10. If you've got a gopro, bring it but make sure it's in a spot that won't compromise your sight lines and that it won't come loose.

Looking at 14stu's list above.

0. for this we will have a few lead/follow times on track and some class time so watching videos is not the most important thing to me.
1. YES YES YES pads and fluids check them ALL!!!! Stock pads will fade in a few laps if you are pushing them.
2. Change it! Before and after.
3. See number 1.
4. Good tread depth is a must. Dont blow a tire.
5. I will have a torque wrench with me. Anyone that needs to check lug nuts before going on track is welcome to use it.
6 & 7. Good info
8. Getting answer on helmet rentals
9 & 10. Take it or leave it. First time will be all about getting the seat time and learn car control.

However do pay me $40 for the autox the day before. You know you wanna do it.

So it's only one 30 minute run session? Is it going to be broken up into beginner and intermediate/advanced groups? How old a helmet is okay?

Snell SA2005/M2005 rating or sooner. Im working on getting 2 20min sessions for both groups and only 1 lead and follow. Depending on the range of experience we have will determine the groups. I hope to do a beginner only group that would have more class time than the other.

Details are still being talked about. Possibility of transponders and maybe running the course CW instead of the usual CCW.

Please go ahead and add me to the list, Paul Vincent. I would be an Intermediate level and have never been to MSR Cresson, last time I've been on track was the first month I got my FR-S in June 2012. Car is paid off now, so I can get 'back on track'... :bellyroll:
