FT-86 SpeedFactory Diffuser by Verus - Complete Aero Solution
FT-86 SpeedFactory in conjunction with Velox Motorsports have released our rear diffuser to solve issues with rear downforce in the 2013+ Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ. Designed off OEM CAD data, it features a near OEM fit and finish. This item has been tested on track as well as refined through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to provide a significant increase in downforce while minimizing drag. CNC laser cut from 5052 aluminum sheetmetal, and then precision bent using CNC press brakes means each part comes out consistent. Designed, analysed, and manufactured in the United States using United States machines and materials. http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/images/ft86sfdif.jpg http://ft86speedfactory.com/images/ft86sfdif-1.jpg http://ft86speedfactory.com/images/ft86sfdif-2.jpg The picture above includes the optional diff/suspension covers as well. These are an extra option to help further clean the flow of air. ETA ON SHIPPING IS LATE JUNE. Manufacturing has already started. :) Product Features: Powder Coated Matte Black Organic Shape Flat head riveted strakes (No rivet heads visible, flat bottom) Simple Bolt on installation Reduces drag Significantly reduces lift Optional 2pc differential/suspension covers reduce drag even further and aid in feeding the diffuser clean air. When combined with our front race splitter. http://ft86speedfactory.com/images/downforce.png http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/imag...litter_FRS.jpg More pics of the rear diffuser are below as well as our center exit V3 race exhaust system which is currently being tested. http://ft86speedfactory.com/images/2...diffuser-1.jpg http://ft86speedfactory.com/images/2...diffuser-2.jpg http://ft86speedfactory.com/images/2...diffuser-3.jpg http://ft86speedfactory.com/images/2...diffuser-4.jpg |
website says wont fit type 80r but it looks pretty roomy. Is that a cautionary "wont fit" or does it really not fit?

Looks great! Do you have any side views to see how far it sticks out behind the bumper?
|
How does this affect cooling for the differential and rear brakes?
What wheels and tires were used in the CFD analysis to determine the numbers? |
I guess its free? No price listed sooooooo....
|
They can't list prices here... It's not too tough to go to their website and check it out.
|
no type 80r no care...
|
Has the fit been refined for manufacturing from these (presumably prototype) images? I can't help but notice in the first installed image (direct shot of the rear) the line slants significantly down to the left instead of a clean, horizontal line that is parallel with the bumper. I guess it could just be the angle, but it otherwise looks like a pretty direct shot of the rear.

Hope this is a typo......

Saving my pennies now, best design I have seen for a rear diffuser yet!!!!
|
Is there any optional rear spat to further extend the width?
Thanks. |
