Autosport Labs RaceCapture
Autosport Labs RaceCapture
https://www.autosportlabs.com/product/racecapture/ Has anyone been using this? I am quite intrigued, but I have yet to find any real-world reviews on this little guy. Thanks! |
I have one, have not used it yet as my car is in storage.
I bought in based on the hardware (combined GPS/accelerometers) and promise of pulling data from the can bus. So far I'm a bit underwhelmed with the app and it doesn't seem that the can bus is sorted out for the twins. |
I bought the racecapture pro2 back in december and i like it so far. Havent used it much since my car is also in storage but ive been working on the can mapping. I'll be releasing my can map code for the racecapture sometime in the spring for anyone else that wants to use it.

Just pre-ordered the racecapture pro Mk3, will post some feedback once it ships to me, though I'm sure I'll be looking for some help on the code side!

Hit up @mabviper to see if he's still making progress with his capture/logging system, local guy and the beta model worked really well.

Mine is still sitting in the box. I’m not willing to give up on the racechrono app. I’m also in complete disbelief they haven’t added a time delta trace.
*Edit: I take it back, looks like time delta was finally added. |
I've gotten mine out of the box and ready to go, still need to do the CAN mapping and testing. Some good info here:

I've been running a Pro mk2 for a while and while I initially had some issues getting it set up correctly (mostly due to a bad cable giving data intermittently), it has been great since then. The Autosport Labs facebook page and forum site are helpful and the primary proprietor Brent P. made himself available to me during troubleshooting. I even stopped by their facility in Washington while I was up that way for a prosolo. During that visit it became obvious they REALLY know what they're doing, even if the challenges of running a small business occasionally get in the way. The CAN mapping is nice and I enjoy having steering angle and brake pressure in addition to the easier to access throttle percentage for driver comparisons.

I sold mine and bought an AIM Solo. Constant problems with the app and the inability to directly compare data with friends who also use AIM products meant that it was more headache that it was worth.
