FRS/BRZ RALLY OR OFFROAD STYLE MEMBER COMPILATION

For those of us who really jones for the rugged rally look on our cars, let's compile photos from members whose cars in some way channel that aesthetic. Whether it be lifted, knobby tires, subtle or extreme modifications, let's see what people are doing out there.

To be clear--I'm really interested in finding real world examples of what people are doing to their cars--not just factory rally team photos etc.

I'm curious if there's anyone else here who gets off on stuff like this.

For examples as to what I'm talking about:

Also, here are some more famous off brands that I find drool worthy:

If you search around, lots of examples in the forum

Heck, even this guy is called "liftedbrz" https://www.instagram.com/liftedbrz/

I'm a huge fan of this aesthetic, specially the safari 911s and any of the Mongol rally, Peking-Paris, etc. purpose built "rally" car. I love the way they look completely utilitarian and purpose-built. I've tried to emulate this with my car, but not "full off-road" as you have up there, but a much more realistic interpretation, modifying it as I see fit to match my current needs.

Here's a pic of my "camping" config.

I've also since bumped up the ride height and fitted taller tires to participate on some TSDs (gravel fire roads), but no pic of it.

There's also a handful of folks who have fitted similar tall tires for winter duty/ice racing, but I don't know who or where the pics are.

Current config is for DD, so back to a more sane (but still higher than stock) ride height and stock tires. I'm currently working on "camping spec 2.0" trying to fit a Yakima Loadwarrior and an LED light bar to help light up the camp site for this summer. Will post pics when I finish.

I love your set up! I'd seen your pics a while back and definitely had your car in mind with this thread. I'd love to see pics of your car dressed out in the rally gear sometime. How much higher is your car than stock in your DD set up? Any impressions on handling differences?

I'd seen LiftedBRZ too back in time but not recently. Man--his Widebody + Tall Tires look is gnarly. I very contemporary interpretation of the spirit of the cars I'm referring to.

Hey! That's awesome. Love the fog lights in the mouth. And the center exhaust.

Are you using the same tires and suspension as LiftedBRZ?

Thanks!

I was. He recently changed lift kit companies. I will most likely follow him in the change. Plans for this winter are TRD Rally Suspension, 2" lift kit.

Mind sharing details about what you guys were using and why the change?

🤔

We were both using Subtle Solution 1" Lift kits. Changing to Anderson Design & Fabrication. Subtle only offered a 1"lift, AD&F offered 2" (and will do custom sizing as well).

Gotcha. Thought you guys were running Flat Out Suspension perhaps because of the coupon code etc.

What are tire specs?

The Anderson kits look much better made too, I really like the inserts! Keep us posted here since you don't seem to have a build thread :D

Never heard of Flatout, pretty nice looking coilovers!

not quite rally rugged look, but the larger tires satisfies my need for that rugged look. I often take my car off road(nothing too crazy) in the summer to reach camp sites and cottages.

Tires are 225/50/17. It raises the car 1" and also closes the wheel gap as well!

That is a little out of my price range for a winter only set-up. Though I would love too. :sigh:
