Monthly Go-karting meet !

~MONTHLY GO-KARTING MEET~

Hey everyone !

We have been going go-karting every first Tuesday of the month for a while now and it is really fun !

I am starting this thread so that more people will see when we post gatherings .

The Tuesday SF Peninsula meet would like to extend the invitation to everyone else that would like to join us !

Each month we go to different go-karting places (alternating between gas/electric) and race against each other !

The speeds might not be as fast as one goes on a track but the thrilling fun factor is definitely there !

We hope to see you next month !

:thanks:

Next month's meet (November 4, 2014) will be held at GoKart Racer (gas) @8pm !

I keep saying I'm gonna come out for one of these but I'm gonna be in Tahoe that week. Guess I'll have to try again in December.

Nice! You may not remember, but I've organized a few of the go-karting meets in the past. We've done LeMans and Umigo with GKR as the final part of the trifecta. I've been lagging with organizing that meet, so this one is perfect!

Following the SF weekly meets thread, I noticed you guys mostly do the peninsula. May I suggest including the other options I've stated (Lemans @ Fremont, Umigo @ Livermore, etc.) to make it more interesting and allow folks that do not live near the area the chance to join.

Again, thanks for doing this!

I do remember this !

There are so many nice places in the area where we can go , we definitely plan to go to LeMans and Umigo in the months coming up since they are great places !

That way for sure we can get more people to come out

I usually get banned for winning most of the time. They don't believe I'm not a professional.

This sounds fun:

"Super Grand Prix (Super Hot Laps + Super Race): $75
A Super Grand Prix is a total of 30 minutes, which is equal to about 23 to 31 laps. Drivers go out for a Super Hot Laps session, take a 10 minute break and look at their race results (brag a little), then go back for 5 minutes of qualifying, line up on the starting grid and race for 15 minutes to cross the finish line first. Perfect for groups!"

That's a long time.

That being said, if I could make it that Tuesday it sounds fun. Too bad they don't have Super Track on Tuesdays.

Or we can just do the triple shot deal. 3 hot lap sessions for $45 which is about 30 minutes of racing(if you dont include the 5-10 minute breaks inbetween).

That doesn't have the race-race though, vs the time attack-ish setup they usually have, I think.

Yes we usually do this deal when we go to GKR ! Worth the time without being too expensive and groupons cut the price down even more !

The race isn't even worth it. They don't regulate the drivers that much and the tracks aren't wide enough (assuming one driver is just driving in the middle of the track) to pass. You will have a hard time passing overall unless you manage to bump them out but even then you'll probably get sent to the box of shame for bumping. lol

I've only been to GKR like...2-3 times and the only memorable time was the supertrack. That's good to know, although I figure it's about the same as k1.
