Hub Bore Correction

Hey guys, just wondering if it's reliable to correct a hub bore size that's too big with a spigot ring. Thanks a lot.

Wesley.

Yes, hub rings are recommended.

Wesley 09-12-2012 04:54 PM

Is that the safest way @seeclass?

Our Subaru Hubs are 56.1, depending on the wheels bore you should be fine because our wheel bores are so small the hub rings will be thick enough that they shound't wear due to guage thickness.

Great thanks, one of the bores i think are 76.1. What would happen if an aftermarket rim bore size is less than that of the FR-S'?

If the wheel bore size is too small the wheel wont fit, you will ether have to have it bored out on a CNC Lathe or have the wheels ordered with a custom bore from the factory.

My SSR Type C wheels have a bore of 72.5 and came with centering rings that converted it from 72.5 to 56.1 for a perfect fit. They are highly recommended if you track your car or if you live in an area with lots of potholes or rough roads.

Ok, so Spartan & Sony confused me. What's our hub bore on the FR-S

5x100 Subaru hub bore is 56.1.

After market wheels have different bore.

So its always x > 56.1 hub rings.

X is the bore size for aftermarket wheels.

JDM wheels usually 60mm to 65mm as that's the minimum requirement to pass VIA/JWL standard (Japan equivalent to DOT).

If X is smaller than 56.1 I'll suggest u don't buy the wheels.

Its perfectly fine to use hub rings. Should be around $20 for one set.

If you're trying to fit scion wheels, they will NOT fit. Scions have a 54.1 center bore. You can have them machined but it's kinda expensive. Most after market wheels come with a 73.1 center bore and some rays wheels come with a 65mm center bore.
