Greddy Oil Cooler
 

Purchased this product from CounterSpace Garage and haven’t seen much information on it so figured some may be interested in seeing some pics and getting some information.

CounterSpace Garage has provided great customer service thus far, and I’d not hesitate to buy from them again, especially given their experience. This is not an ad for them, though. I paid full price for the oil cooler.

Anyway, here are some initial pics and thoughts. I only have a little bit of time to work on the car right now so don’t have a full install tutorial and will simply share what I have noticed so far.

Here’s the area where it will sit. It’s offset to the passenger side and looks like it will have minimal negative impact to condenser/radiator airflow.

Here’s the area behind where the cooler sits. The only obvious space for air to flow after exiting the cooler is noted by the arrow. I’m sure it would add a lot of cost, but I wonder if a vent in the wheel well might make any difference?

(Note that I have the bracket installed backwards here, and in the following shots I have the fins covered with tape to prevent damage before installation.)

The kit comes with foam for all 4 sides of the cooler where it meets the shroud.

The buttonhead fasteners are a nice touch with the shroud. I assume they are better for airflow, though I can’t imagine how much.

The only issue I’ve noticed so far is that 2 of the bolts are too short to fit with the bracket installed. I had some extra bolts laying around, which are slightly too long, but better than too short.

The kit comes with this bracket which slightly rotates the washer fill neck.

I haven’t finished the install yet, but the lines will run in the same configuration of other front mount coolers.

The horns get relocated, and you have to free the ambient temp sensor from it being taped together with the horn harness, but those are the only real non “bolt-on” issues I’ve noticed, which are very minor.

The instructions are all in Japanese, so you have to look at the pictures and then sort of figure things out from there [emoji848]

It looks similar to my Blitz oil cooler. They are very effective to the point that it may need to be blocked in cooler conditions. But you're in FL so it probably wont be a concern.lol

I live in the high desert of SoCal, and I still think my Blitz needs a block-off for street use. I've never seen it over 200F on the street with ambient temp over 100

Same here. 95F and 90% humidity barley cracks 180F. I could easy get to 230F+ before the oil cooler. I dont worry about thinner 0w20 anymore that's for sure.

Sounds like the Blitz unit has a 180°F thermostat like the Greddy unit. I’m considering asking Greddy if they have a thermostat with a higher opening temp.

Like you all said, though, a 180-200°F temp with 0W20 oil should be fine on the street.

I think as a gross rule of thumb you want to get the oil to at least 212F during operation to help boil out any water that inevitably gets absorbed into the oil.

That's why a block-off plate is advisable.
