Hey guys i was reading vivids blog today and found out cusco is planning a 2mm larger throttle body for the toyobarus. What do you guys think? This thing might be tits if the tuner can maximize its potential with the ecu!!

In my experience these are only worth it when you have the whole I/H/E and tune done. Im also curious to see some results

I wonder if there is a mistake in vivids listing or maybe there is a core exchange. $1700 is way to much for a throttle body hopefully John from @vividracing can chime in on this :party0030:.

I have to say some manufacturers are raping us and trying to get back their R&D costs very fast. Even a s2000 hks exhaust is cheaper than what it is for the toyobarus. Im glad AGP stayed real with their exhaust price. But if you look at kw v3's prices for other cars they are cheaper even if the other cars are more expensive. Looks to me like they are trying to get us back on their R&D costs .

Even the Jun EVO X throttle body is cheaper at $1,300

For the WRX/STI their are companies that offer a porting service where they port the throttle body a few mm, than replace the blade with a bigger diameter one. I believe this service is $250, I can find the link when I get into the office.

In addition Skunk just released a 72mm DBW throttle body for STI I did some testing with. It looks very similar to the BRZ unit but I am not sure if it will swap over... This is big though and if it works, would probably only show gains on turbo cars... if at all.

I wonder how large our throttle body is? I have already been thinking of replacing it with an RX8 throttle body depending on the size. The TC guys have been doing this too. It works you just have to open the TPS on it and swap it over.

I don't know if that's such a good idea. I would be more inclined to buy this or have the stock one enlarged professionally.
