We were able to gather a lot of data to make improvements to the car power and aero soon. :w00t:

whats the suspension setup please?

Evasive Motorsports 11-16-2012 03:23 PM

Right now we are running V3 from KW. Still need to dial in the suspension a bit more.

You managed to answer other peoples request.. Hows about this one. Or maybe you conveniently avoided my post.

I'll search the net and see what I can come up with. I'm sure the results aren't secret although I could see why a builder might want them to be.

As stated - given the SC/Extreme Aero/Sticky Tires I would have expected faster but rather than make assumptions I wanted to see what setups beat this car.

Edit found the 2011 results for now:

For those that think the car should be faster, you are right.. the car has the potential to go very fast... and we have collected valuable data to make that happen. We received the car in August from Scion and have built the car in 2 months without much sleep to get it ready for the SEMA show, and with 2-3 days of preparation after SEMA we got the car ready to run at Superlap Battle... so to answer your question, should the car go faster? yes. Are we disappointed in the lap time we ran? NO. to take a stock Scion FR-S and to build something unique and different and prove it will hold up on the track and still set fastest FR-S time to date all within 3 months time, to us its a major accomplishment.

We have set and held records in AWD and RWD classes with our EVO and S2000, those cars did not get fast from day one, it takes years of R&D, testing and refinements to dial in a car. Especially a new platform.

Orthow, if you have anymore questions please do not hesitate to call me and i'd be happy to discuss tire / suspension and chassis setup with you over the phone... so maybe you can better understand what it takes to build a fast car.

Just got beat out by an NSX and an M3? Not bad!

Not sure I understand the hostility. its funny that 59's are scoffed at now days. It is lost on most people how fast that really is at Buttonwillow. I know their car wasn't working well as a completed system, but a 59 is still about 13 seconds a lap faster than a stock car. Sure there is a ton of potential in set up, but this is a great demonstration of the fact that a fast car is not just made up of fast parts. They have to work together in harmony for the driver to do their job. I'm sure they will go faster. For now, they have set the bar for the fastest FR-S there. I'm about 4 seconds behind. Looking to fix that soon. :)

Best,
Matt

Crawford ran a 1:59 yesterday i think, full interior but way more power than the Evasive car.

i like that guy trying to call you guys out on your times when it was the first time the car has been on track.
youd expect a bunch of excitement about someone running an fr-s in time attack events... but on this forum it seems like everyone complains or down talks no matter what.

Matt Andrews 11-19-2012 05:10 PM

crawford ran their times yesterday on C91s and a built motor that was looking hurt. They were about 5 seconds faster than my stock drivetrain car on RS3 street tires...
