Weight loss potential?
With the current weight of this car, how easy do you think it'll be to get drop about 100 lbs without getting extreme?
|
what's your definition of "extreme"?

Remove back seat, spare tire/jack, delete most of the exhaust and use a turn down tip after the header or muffler, and of course light weight 16's.
|
Let's see, Aluminum hood & trunk so CF won't make a difference.
You can take out power window stuff, put in CF seats, Aluminum one piece drive shaft, lighter 16" Enki wheels, replace exhaust behind cat with cheap aluminum/steel components, plastic side windows, remove the ABS system, remove stereo system or A/C system on your choice. That's 100 lb in savings right there. No need to strip any paint, acoustic or rear seats. Those won't save much for what they offer. |
Most of those materials are on the bottom of the car, lower than the engine itself. I doubt this car comes with a ton of stuffing under the carpet to reduce noise. Probably no better than a Corolla.
Air bags! Not sure how many this car comes with but they can weight quite a bit when there are 10 of them in a car. |
Seriously? It's been all of two days since the last weight reduction thread.

We can never get enough weight reduction threads. Can we?

I'd rather drive the car as is. Other than wheels, and maybe aluminum drive shaft, I don't feel anything else is worth removing for the purpose the car was made for.
