Alcantara question
 

So Im going to start upholstering the interior of my car, but Im not sure what thickness of alcantara to use. I went to the jpm coachworks website for reference, but they dont list the thickness of their alcantara.

.6mm swatches seem really good for stretching and working with, but I dont know how durable it will be. Thickness is also a concern when working with a sewing machine, so any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated.

You be good with that Alcantara thickness. From my experience is easier then the suede I was working with because it is thicker. & the sewing machine's needle still went through. GL and try on smaller or cheaper material before the good stuff.

So, just to clarify.. the thicker material was harder to work with?

It depends what you are doing really. If you are gluing / wrapping a piece the thicker (fabric) the harder it is for turns/ corners from my experience.

& for sowing I felt no difference. Just make sure you get a good needle.
