The Phastek Halo Kit adds bright halos to your headlights on your Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ. Grab more attention with this unique mod! If you desire more functionality with the wireless remote, check out the dual color and ColorSHIFT kit.

Now Available in RED, BLUE, GREEN, AMBER, and COOL WHITE.

The pictures below are from a dual color halo setup. The single color has the potential to be brighter due to it having double the density.

They look good. I'm interested. Also want to see a diy guide before I commit. Do these just go around the projector? Would like to see pictures with DRLs installed and on. Would the white match 6000k LEDs?

PhastekSport 11-13-2012 11:12 AM

Thanks... The white color is around 6000k. I can take pictures with them on and the 6000k HIDs currently installed. The DRLs were disabled because of the orange tint (despite having aftermarket bulbs).

They can be wired in to act like DRLs though. Just hook them to accessory power and flip the switch to the on position. They do indeed go around the projectors.

With the projector retro fit we'll be doing, the high beam area will be switched back to DRLs probably (with a plasma LED bulb).

They are really bright.... When driving against a wall I can tell that the spread is wider than my headlights. It actually adds some light to the corners. Also I thought I was going to hop back in my car last night to go to the store so I left them on. I wound up not returning to the car for at least 12 hours and the car still started without hesitation.

http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...lo_Install.jpg

This shows how they are currently wired. Someone was curious about that. We had to rush because I was coming back from SEMA and headed right back out again. The wiring options are just about endless. You can go with a wireless remote and have color patterns as well.

Would it be possible to hook up the halos onto the current DRL circuit instead of flipping an on switch?

PhastekSport 11-13-2012 12:36 PM

I would have to research the DRL circuit on the FR-S. I know on the FJ Cruiser, they would reverse the current, but that had a different bulb type.

Also we would have to look into the fact that they might drop the voltage supplied to the light. Then we'd have to add a relay.

You don't actually have to flip a switch if you run it with accessory power (easy location to tap into is the cigarette lighter). When the vehicle is on or the key is flipped to ACC... The lights would be on.

I do understand the desire to wire them differently, but I would think this solution would please most people.

Sounds good. But i was thinking of actually deleting the DRL's and hook up the halos onto that circuit. Though i cant imagine how the fr-s would look like without the DRL's and just the halos, might look awkward. But anyhow, you got me interested. Or i'll just wait for you guys to come out with a complete headlight unit with HID retrofit with the halos. Makes it a lot easier to install.:D Thanks for the input!

PhastekSport 11-13-2012 01:34 PM

Personally, I think it looks fine without the original DRL and the halos. Next time I get the bumper off, I'll check the wires to see what the output voltage is with the DRLs. I have to see what a pair of headlights would cost us. Another thing on my to do list (along with pricing for door handles).

Here's a picture with the halos on during the day and the lights off.

Looks very sexy with the halos. I'll stay tuned for updates. Thanks!

Love the Trans Am conversion! I've always wanted a '69 Camaro SS and a "Bandit" Trans Am. Yes, deep down, I am a Redneck, its just who I am.

chris's fr-s 11-23-2012 08:32 PM

Has anyone tries this othwr than the op

PhastekSport 11-26-2012 06:14 PM

Updated pricing.

108.95 for single color and 127.95 for dual color.

chris's fr-s 11-26-2012 07:02 PM

Are the solid colors brighter, also what all does the kit include; the led strip and the actual round halo circle etc...

PhastekSport 11-26-2012 09:58 PM

The solid halos would be brighter because of the density. Even with the dual color, you can see the extra light output at night. The pattern is wider than the headlights.

It includes a switch, wiring, and the pcb mounted LED halo rings.

Are the pcb lights mounted to an acrylic halo or would I have to make one?

PhastekSport 11-26-2012 10:19 PM

You can mount them as is. The backside does not conduct electricity and has 3M adhesive.

chris's fr-s 11-26-2012 10:38 PM

Thanks Op , before I order these I would like to know if anybody has installed the red ones?

If so pics?

bgibbsunc 11-26-2012 10:46 PM

Love the look I do halos on all my cars and bike. One question do you offer Ccfl? From experience leds tend to burn out with the heat from the headlight so I don't do leds anymore.

Not that I know of. We use these rings as "demon eyes" on the RS Camaros and ZL1s.

We don't have CCFL for this size. It's a ring we've installed in all Camaros including the ZL1. They have a warranty..
Keep the questions coming guys. I might reinstall RGB rings so everyone can see all the color options.

How hard was it to disable the drl's?

Tylub 11-26-2012 11:39 PM

are the halos little led bulbs or is it a consistent "ring" like you can't tell there are little bulbs tracing the projectors

mach330 11-26-2012 11:49 PM

They are LEDs. You can see the little LEDs on the pix.

Is it specific to the frs? Thanks

PhastekSport 12-11-2012 12:58 PM

Our install guide will be specific for the FR-S. We definitely have to get the headlights back out because an RGB kit is going in with the bi xenon projectors =).

Time to get the lights, camera, and mic out.

dun3 12-12-2012 01:45 AM

daaayumn... like

ScionFrsFan 12-27-2012 02:31 PM

Has anyone installed this yet? Do they plan on doing a full halo soon? Instead of the small leds.

Thank you!

PhastekSport 12-27-2012 03:29 PM

Honestly we sell a lot more of the Camaro kits than FR-S. We will probably be making the CCFL kits available though. They are not as bright and do not have the ability to come in dual color or RGB ColorSHIFT.

The solid colors will have double the density of LEDs naturally. I've attached a picture for comparison.

Single color white up top and dual color white/blue (switched to white only) on the bottom.

http://i805.photobucket.com/albums/y...le_vs_dual.jpg

Here is a vehicle with quad CCFL vs a dual color LED (switched to blue only).

ScionFrsFan 12-29-2012 06:29 PM

Any pics of the red halo on car?

PhastekSport 12-29-2012 06:33 PM

No sorry... When we remove the headlights the next time on ours, we'll probably get as many shots as possible.

EDIT: Can't post anymore on here today because I've reached my thread bump limit.

Other color options will probably be added Monday.

Red is more of a show color. In Texas you can use just about any color other than red as long as it is not strobing.

:)

Install instructions and an instructional video will be included. This does require opening up the headlight casing. A lot of members have already done this in order to install HID retro fit kits and paint their casings.

hayleybeaners 12-29-2012 07:02 PM

How difficult to install? Can they be hard wired to turn on and off with the car?

Mathewgzlz 12-29-2012 07:09 PM

Love it

ScionFrsFan 12-29-2012 07:18 PM

I bet the cops wont like red :(

Tylub 01-06-2013 02:58 AM

What is the difference between the ccfl and the other first one?
