Don't forget to activate your alarm!

Just a friendly reminder for those with the Limited. Have not seen this talk about lately. The alarm is set to off by default.

When I picked up my DGM Limited yesterday I asked the dealership if they activated the alarm as part of the dealer prep and was told that they do. But when I got home I found it was still in the Off mode.

Page 82 of the manual shows how to activate it.

Wonder how many out there are not even aware of this?

Yeah... Mine was inactive as well when I got mine. :paddle::iono:

Hmm, guess I should check mine too! :bonk:

Agreed, Only knew from this forum to turn it on!

Thank you and good to know. I will check tomorrow and I bet it is off. Great advice. :w00t:

just a question, i tried following the instructions on page 82, didn't hear any horn sound or see anything on the display after holding down the unlock button and then opening door. Right now when i lock my door, i heard one horn sound and i see the engine immobilizer icon blinking so is the alarm on?

Dorb 11-16-2012 01:51 PM

Wow, will check it out this weekend. Good catch.

Thanks mine was not activated either.

I should just do the PDI myself probably, since I found the grommets in the glovebox and front license plate holes not drilled and the mount in the trunk.

I had that too at first, make sure the ignition is in the ON and not ACC mode, and don't wait too long between pushing down unlock and opening the door, if you wait too long it doesn't do anything and you don't hear the horn confirming the mode.

This...mine was also off. So what does double clicking the lock button do?

kwood9000 11-16-2012 04:54 PM

Mine was off as well. Thanks for the info.

Never, ever, EVER trust the dealer on anything. They can say that they did the PDI, oil change and filled the airbags with fresh aspen air, but it's all B.S.

this doesn't apply to those of us with the Premium?
