Double Din Not Reading SD Card
 

I got my clutch done from a shop yesterday. They unplugged the battery for whatever reason.

Now my radio, nav, bluetooth all that stuff wont even show up.

My SD card that worked fine all up until this has this showing now.

The Subaru tech's dont know what to do without me having to spend a bunch of money.

Ask for shop Foreman/Master Technician, or call Subaru Canada if your dealership can't figure this out. Escalate (quietly) if they are the ones that caused the issue.

Edit: Just noticed you did not specify if you went to a Subaru dealership shop or not.. That would make things less in your favour and escalating would go no where.

I suggest you disconnect the battery, step on the brake, wait a couple of minutes and reconnect the battery - see if the radio will right itself.

Plan B, check the appropriate fuse(s).

Plan C, try a different SD card.

Plan D, wait till someone comes along who knows what they are talking about -:)

If the SD card was popped out without going through the right procedure it has been erased. You may be SOL.

@humfrz suggestion of attempting a reset by disconnecting the battery or pulling the fuse would be my first suggestion. Be sure to give it some time before reconnecting though, as it may have some capacitor in it to deal with short power outages (like at startup). Wait a minute before reconnecting.

I'm not familiar with this model, is the SD card required for the GPS/Maps/etc or is it just music? I'm assuming you removed the card and reseated it, but that is worth trying at the same time the power is off just to be sure.

As far as @gravitylover suggestion that the SD card was removed and erased, that is possible, but unlikely unless the unit writes out to the card and was doing so when it was pulled from the unit. You could always put the SD card in some other reader to see if it is still readable. Most likely it is a FAT32 formatted card so should at least be visible to other devices.

If it is hosed, and it is required for the GPS, then you would need to rebuild it. You may be able to do that yourself if Subaru provides the image on their website, but that's unlikely as OEM radios tend to be a source of revenue.

Might be worth to swap it with an aftermarket unit. You can get a plug and play setup from crutchfield with CarPlay/AA for under 300 bucks.
